Prospering Homes wasn’t created from a business idea, it was created from lived experience. Our founder, Sharron Banks, understands firsthand what it feels like to face housing instability.

During one of the most difficult seasons of her life, she found herself navigating homelessness while trying to provide stability for her children. Like many families, she wasn’t an unfit parent. She had simply fallen on hard times and needed support while working to rebuild her life.

That experience revealed something that would change her future forever. There were very few housing options that offered both affordability and the support needed to truly move forward. Too often, people were expected to recover from a crisis without the stability required to do so.

That realization became the inspiration behind Prospering Homes. Today, every decision made within the organization is rooted in empathy, accountability, and the belief that difficult circumstances should never define a person’s future.
